DogFest Guidelines

DogFest is pleased to provide a fun and dog-friendly outlet for you and your canine companion(s) to socialize with other dogs and dog enthusiasts.  We encourage and promote responsible dog ownership.

Help us keep this event a fun and safe place for others.  We ask that you please adhere to the following guidelines while visiting DogFest:

  • No pets other than dogs will be permitted.
  • All dogs visiting must be current with vaccinations.  Each dog must display current license and rabies tags.  No puppies under 6 months old, since they will not have all their vaccinations.  Injured and/or ill dogs should stay at home.
  • All dogs must be well socialized and get along with humans and other dogs of all sizes.  Dogs that are stressed by crowds and/or display aggressive nature should not participate.  This includes dogs that are aggressive towards people, other dogs, food and toys.  Any dog displaying signs of aggression must be removed from DogFest.
  • All dogs must be leashed.  Retractable leashes are discouraged for safety reasons; 6 foot leashes recommended.
  • Please be prepared to pick up any waste deposited by your dog.  Dog waste may be place in trashcans or dog waste stations.  Be sure to carry poop bags.
  • Dogs must be under direct control of their owners at all times.
  • Please be sure children are accompanied by adults at all times.  Children should be educated on how to approach a strange dog and should be advised to use caution if approaching larger dogs.
  • Please do not feed a dog without owner's permission.  Some dogs have allergies or may be on special diets.
  • Do not bring animals in heat.
  • For the safety of your dog, please use caution if the event falls on a hot day.  Water stations are available around the property to help your dog stay well hydrated.
  • Keep your dogs away from farm animals.  Extra fencing will be put around the alpaca and (guard) llama area the day of the event for extra safety, but be warned these animals can kill a dog if one enters their pen.
  • Have fun partaking in agility courses and other games, but do not push your dog too hard or ask your dog to perform tasks which are well-beyond their experience level. Understand they may be a beginner and there is a learning curve to most of the activities that will take place. Bring treats and reward your dog for a job well-done!
